Teaching English pronunciation is an area of language teaching that many English teachers avoid. While there are many textbooks and instruction manuals available, as well as books on the theories and methodologies of language teaching there is comparatively little on learning pronunciation.

    This book is one of my favourite books on pronunciation teaching. What makes it particularly valuable is the fact that it combines sound theoretical background information with practical application. It is comprehensive (it provides information on segmental and suprasegmental phonology, questions on curriculum design and teaching technology etc Reviews: In “The Pronunciation Book “ of Tim Bowen and Jonathan Marks we find that in teaching pronunciation there is a big need to know all the sounds of English language.
